YackTrack Tools

In the first few days that YackTrack was live, there was some tremendous feedback. There were also a few little tools that people created and some other people who just need some credit thrown their way. So, without further ado, here are some neat tools and cool people.

Bookmarklet

Thanks to Marshall Kirkpatrick at ReadWriteWeb for coming up with the initial bookmarklet. Below is the “officially sanctioned” bookmarklet. Basically it is the same thing, it just sits on this site. So, just drag the bookmarklet to your bookmark toolbar. If you are using Internet Explorer, right click on the bookmarklet and select “Add to Favorites”.

Embedded Page Link

Another twist on this theme comes from Colin Walker. As a blog owner, he thought it would be a good idea to have a YackTrack link on each of his blog posts. I think this is a great idea, so the html to embed a YackTrack link in your page is below.

Feedburner FeedFlare

A new addition to our tools is the YackTrack FeedFlare. This was created by J. Phil aka Scribkin because even stuff like RSS and a bookmarklet are not quite convenient enough. I highly recommend you start reading his blog as well. You can find the “official” FeedFlare at http://yacktrack.com/ytFeedFlare.xml.

First, many thanks must go to Honest Ape. He designed the YackTrack logo, way better than I could have done. He also helped test out the basic features a bit before the initial launch. He also happens to be incredibly funny and pens a comic strip called ‘Social Mediacrity’ over at the Mixxing Bowl . Also, ReadWriteWeb and Sarah Perez for writing their wonderful article, Track Distributed Conversations With YackTrack Thankfully, the article stirred up some interest in YackTrack. I want to thank our friends who have decided to remain nameless for volunteering to clean up the design of YackTrack a bit. Free help is always a good thing.
